These days, the electric vehicle industry is undergoing a technological transformation phase with two major objectives: improving vehicle range and at the same time enhancing charging infrastructure. The EV manufacturing companies are investing tons of money and efforts in the charging station infrastructure development for supporting long-range battery vehicles. EV Charging Network

An electric vehicle charging network means a group of the charging stations of a particular charging network service provider. A charging network may develop its own charging stations or enlist the other charging stations under its branding and operations. In India, many different EV segment companies are working on the charging stations within their network for facilitating the services to end-user.

EV Charging Station Network Providers in India

1.   TATA Power- There are above 85 charging points in TATA Power with more than 40 in Mumbai and the remaining are in 9 states. He world famous company “TATA Motors” has been partnered with TATA Power for setting up more than 300 fast-charging stations across different cities across Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, and Hyderabad.

2.   Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL)-  This is one of the world’s largest companies of energy service nice. This is a joint venture of NTPC Limited, Power Finance Corporation, Rural Electrification Corporation, and POWERGRID. There are above 534 captive chargers and 156 public charging stations.

3.   Magenta Power – ChargeGrid-  This is the brand name of this Mumbai based company. This company is covering more than 50 charging stations in over 8 cities in India. This claims to have the largest span of charging stations across India.

4.   Fortum Charge & Drive-  It was started in October 2017, and now they have 62 DC Fast Charging Points operational in different parts of India.  MG Motors collaborated with Fortum after the successful launch of its debut EV MG ZS in India. After this partnership, Fortum will install 50 KW DC fast public charging stations across many cities of India.

5.   TecSo ChargeZone Private Limited – Charge + Zone- Based in Vadodara, Charge + Zone is an EV charging startup with the presence of more than 100 charging stations in India for EV cars, buses, and two-wheelers. Currently, they are supporting 10+ e-mobility solution providers across 6 different cities. 

6.   Tvesas Electric Solutions Private Limited – Volttic – Volttic is a Noida-based EV Charging company having 42 AC and DC charging points in its network. This company is having operations in Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, and Bengaluru and serving companies such as JP Morgan, HP, McKinsey, and Fidelity.

7.   NTPC Limited- The company has installed more than 400 charging stations and has signed MoUs with companies like IOCL, DMRC, HPCL with the administrations of Bhopal, Indore, and Navi Mumbai for charging facilities. This is also having a charging cum swapping station in Faridabad. It serves appx 50 electric 3Ws with 160 batteries in its charging.

8. Ather Energy & Ather Grid– Founded in 2013, this Bengaluru based company developed the first intelligent scooter of India named Ather 450. This is serving its services at public places such as offices, malls, and restaurants. The network non-Ather vehicles to charge as well, although fast charging is only supported for these vehicles. The company provides more than 30 charging locations in Bengaluru and 10+ locations in Chennai. Now they are planning to expand the network to 30 cities across India.
