India Is All Set To Have An EV Super App: Government of INDIA Working On A One-Stop Shop For All EV Information.
The government of India is working on the launch of a master app, that will act as a one-stop shop and will provide information on location, availability and other necessary information regarding vehicle charging stations.
This is all done by keeping in mind to increase the rate of adoption of electric vehicles and ease the range anxiety of end users.
CESL or State-run Convergence Energy Services Limited is working on collating information from the private sector for this super app, which is scheduled to be launched in the next 4-6 weeks. The app will have detailed knowledge of charger types and charging tariffs, allowing users to make and change reservations at nearby stations.
CESL Managing director, Mahua Acharya told that the government of India’s aim is to have a mutually beneficial arrangement for all stakeholders.
Apart from the network of public charging stations information, the app will inform the information shared by OEMs, enhancing visibility and traffic at private charging points. Its users will get peace of mind knowing that they can readily access information and make reservations at nearby stations if they need to charge their vehicles on the go”, According to Acharya.
According to the Industry estimates suggestions, there is appx. 15,000 to 20,000 private charging stations, while they have a requirement of about 400,000 such points in the country. They need more charging stations.
