Why don’t we standardize electric vehicle charging plugs?

While different countries have different EV charging plugs, it remains standardized to an extent. All countries around the world use one of the following as the charging plug:

• Type 1 (J1772)
• Combo 1 (J1772+DC pins)
• Type 2 (Mennekes supporting 3 phases)
• Combo 2 (fast charging + DC pins)
